Hey everyone! Looking for something to do while stuck at home all day? If you have some extra hours in the day, we urge you to check out these organizations and help them in their fight to end climate change. And while that may seem a huge and daunting task, think of it this way- if you are reading this article, you are already supporting one! Below we will post a couple of great organizations to check out, their individual websites, and their mission statements. This article will also try and focus on some lesser known, but still impactful, organizations that are trying to help shape our planet.

The first organization on our list is the Founders Pledge. This initiative, while heavily focused on climate change and lifestyle, also supports a variety of other causes such as children’s nutrition, mental health, and animal welfare. This organization takes somewhat of a different approach to lead the fight against climate change: this initiative is aimed for entrepreneurs to make a commitment to donate at least 2 percent of their personal proceeds to charity when selling their businesses or investments. The Founders Pledge is a London based charitable initiative, and their mission statement is to “empower entrepreneurs to do immense good.” If you are a business owner this is a great organization to be involved in; it does not require immense amounts of time, but your work still leaves a meaningful impact. This project may also be a good idea to get offices or other large companies involved with as well. You can check out their main page here: https://founderspledge.com/, and you can specifically find their research on climate change here: https://founderspledge.com/stories/climate-change-executive-
The next organization we would love to shout out is the Clean Air Task Force. This is a non governmental organization based in the United States that has been working to reduce air pollution since 1996. Through its course, this organization has successfully helped limit the United States’ carbon dioxide emissions and has established regulations of diesel, shipping, and methane emissions. The Task Force’s mission is to “reduce climate change by applying an overwhelming amount of force to some of the biggest levers to reduce carbon and other climate warming emissions.” This organization prides itself on being data driven- they will give you concrete facts and evidence and propose realistic solutions for climate change. You can learn more about their specific research programs, which include advanced nuclear energy systems, bioenergy, and super pollutants, through this link: https://www.catf.us/work/. The Clean Air Task Force main page link will be posted here: https://www.catf.us/
Our final organization that we want to talk about today is the Rainforest Foundation US. While this company is a little more focused on the overall conservation of rainforests in Central and South America, these initiatives will translate in reducing the effects of climate change. Something that really sticks out about this organization is that they partner directly with indigenous people of Brazil, Peru, Panama, and Guyana, who are deeply driven to protect their land. Rainforest Foundation US provides these peoples with technology and resources that they can use to monitor illegal loggers and miners, and also provides them with legal resources that they can use to stop them. Now is an even better time than ever to support this organization given the COVID-19 outbreak, check out their response to the pandemic here: https://rainforestfoundation.networkforgood.com/projects/97298-emergency-fund-to-protect-indigenous-peoples-from-covid-19. Here is the Rainforest Foundation US main page: https://rainforestfoundation.org/

We hope that this list has given you a pivot point which you can launch your climate change initiatives off of. We will regularly post other organizations we encourage you to support, as well as other tips, facts, and general news. Stay healthy!
